Throttle Friction Install Instructions

1. Loosen belt tension via the two all thread aft adjuster rods

2. Drop cooling fan by removing the four bolts

3. Drop both intermediate pulleys from swing arms (note which sheave for each belt)

4. Remove both all thread aft adjustment lock nuts

5. Remove the four AN3 bolts securing the aft plate to the slider rails

6. Remove aft plate (note orientation top & bottom)

7. Remove TR control cable rod end from scissor (some ships have a lower access hole or panel to facilitate hardware removal)

8. Slide whole TR assembly aft off the four rails (some ships have two small turnbuckles clamping the rails tight to prevent slider vibration remove if installed)

9. Remove one side of the horizontal stabilator (@1”) to facilitate removal and replacement of center belt

10. Remove all three belts and replace with new (#1 3V1180, #2 3V1180, #3 3V1120 (aft)

11. Install #1 belt onto the fan sheave and #1 dual swing arm sheave (note position)

12. Install #2 belt onto #1 dual swing arm sheave (note position)

13. Attach #1 dual sheave to swing arm with spacers (verify swing arm moves freely)

14. Install #2 belt onto #2 dual swing arm sheave (note position)

15. Install #3 belt onto TR shaft pulley

16. Align and slide TR assembly onto rails and position as forward as possible

17. Install #3 belt onto #2 dual swing arm sheave (note position)

18. Attach #2 dual sheave to swing arm with spacers (verify swing arm moves freely)

19. Reinstall end plate with the four sets of AN3 hardware

20. Pull whole assembly aft

21. **Verify all three belts are in the appropriate sheave and not twisted**

22. Reinstall all thread locking nuts and tighten to specification

23. Reinstall rail turnbuckles

24. Reinstall fan

25. Rotate TR and verify proper installation of belts before first start up!

26. *Make logbook entry noting date and Hobbs reading*

27. Remember that belts may take several hours with varying weights to stretch to proper tension
